About these games

Sorting games give you a mess and one rule for tidying it: one colour per tube, three of a kind, four of a colour per row. Working out the order is the puzzle, and the reward is the satisfying moment when everything clicks into place.

If you want something calm, start with Color Water Sort or Rope Push, which have no timer. If you like a bit of pressure, Sort Match 3D has a clock and Car Jam 3D ends the level on a wrong move. Color Water Sort has 200 hand-made levels and the others never run out, so there is always another one.

Questions and answers

Are sorting games good for adults?

Yes. They are popular with adults as a relaxing way to switch off for a few minutes, and the later levels of Color Water Sort and Car Jam 3D take real planning.

Which sorting game has no timer?

Color Water Sort, Boat Colour Match and Rope Push have no clock. Sort Match 3D is the only timed one on this list.

What if I get stuck?

Restart the level and change your first two or three moves; the order at the start usually decides whether a sorting level can be finished.
